MICCAI Grand Challenge:
Neonatal Brain Segmentation 2012

Welcome to the NeoBrainS12 webpage.

The aim of the NeoBrainS12 challenge is to compare (semi-)automatic algorithms for segmentation of neonatal brain tissues and measurement of corresponding volumes using T1- and T2-weighted MRI scans of the brain. The comparison is performed in (any of) the following tissue types: cortical and central grey matter, non-myelinated and myelinated white matter, brainstem and cerebellum, and cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles and in the extracerebral space.

During MICCAI in 2012 in Nice, an on-site evaluation has been organized. The website remains open as an online evaluation framework for new segmentation algorithms or new versions of already evaluated algorithms. You are welcome to register, download the training and test data and submit your results.

How does it work?

On this website, teams can register to participate in the study. After registration, they can download a set of T1-weighted and T2-weighted MR images of the brain. The teams can apply their segmentation algorithm and submit the obtained results. The segmentation results will be evaluated against the manually set reference standard and published on this website. In addition, we ask you to submit a paper describing your method.
